I am a healing enthusiast through and through. Not in the rah-rah cheerleader way, but in the way that I can hold the hope when things feel insurmountable. And I can be real nerdy about the neurobiology of trauma. As trite as it may sound, I truly believe in the innate ability for people to heal. Just like we come to the aid of our body when it is injured, we can offer this to our mental, emotional and spiritual selves as well. I would be honored to be a part of your healing or self-exploration journey, wherever you may be on that path.
My practice is deeply rooted in mindfulness and curiosity, supporting my clients in becoming more acquainted with themselves and their inner world. I aim to create a nonjudgmental space to be authentic and real with you so that you can be authentic and real with yourself. I help guide you in getting to see the function in what you may consider a dysfunction. I see symptoms as strategies of survival and regulation, not pathology. These may be parts of yourself that worked so hard for you to survive during your hard life experiences, but perhaps ran their course in ways that no longer support you.
When we are done working together, my hope is that you can have new internal skills so that you can create the change you would like to see in your life. Mastery of new skills and different ways of relating to yourself internally can reveal new outcomes and life experiences (old, unhelpful patterns–take the back seat!) You may be more willing to see the resilient, powerful parts of yourself you may have dismissed before and feel more comfortable sitting with the painful parts. As the cliche goes, “what you resist persists,” so I find true power in acceptance of the full, complicated human experience.
